I don't understand the use of non-enhancement drugs in sports.

Using steroids to get a competitive edge is one thing, coke has other effects.

Increased energy
Decreased appetite
Mental alertness
Increased heart rate
Increased blood pressure
Constricted blood vessels
Increased temperature
Dilated pupils

Maybe he was hoping it would help with his cheeseburger addiction.

Well, you asked the question, so I gave you a possible answer. Not to defend the guy, but why not? All they know is gym and worrying about their next fight, and how they're going to make a living, plus the internet boards judging their every move. If you ask me, that's a pretty fucking heavy burden to carry. It's easy for you to sit at your computer and pass judgment on these guys. For Tim Sylvia a chocolate shake and a walk on the beach might just do the trick; maybe Williams needs more thrill to unwind.

If a fighter's confidence might get shot beacuse 15yroldchiknsht posted on a board that "Tim Sylvia is a weak-ass fighter, and my gramma has more heart", I'm impressed that a chocolate shake helps Sylvia, and he's not up on some watchtower with a rifle shooting at random people because they all resemble 15yroldchiknsht's avatar.
