This is awesome. I'm getting into an argument about the social implications of a TV sitcom on an MMA thread.

We can agree to disagree, I think it is a sexist show that makes men look terrible and the only folks I know who find it funny are woman and homosexuals. But that's just me. And if you are a man and like the show, I am not implying that you are a homosexual, so don't go there.

Rosie O"Donnell is the female version of Kevin James, is an underachiever, stupid fat loser.

This show would be off the air in ten minutes, it would be called anti-woman, etc. and would be gone. Why the double standard? Why is it OK to have the other way? Comedy or not....

Maybe because there isnt enough men that give a shit, and theres enough women that do? its not a double standard at all.. its simple, men dont care about that, and women do.. assuming they really would care about somethin as silly as that.

I dont see where you keep getting that Kevin James wife was that smart, to be honest she was a moron.

James might have been weird an ate alot of food an blah but he wasnt actually dumb, just wanted everything his way.

Carrie took care of Doug, but Doug watched over Carrie an made sure she didnt do stupid shit too.


Yet no one likes this show, it has 9 seasons i would say enough people like it,

More power to you. I just don't find the premise funny or original. It is a shame too, because I like it when local boys make good, I am from LI and so is Kevin James (he grew up in Stony Brook, I believe), but I just can't get into the show. His wife wears the pants and he is like a retarded child trying to get away with things behind her back, it's just not funny to me. though i have to admit i do find Jerry Stiller funny.

and afro, I agree that women make more noise and men don't when it comes to shit like this, but that doesn't make it right. TV is a powerful medium and it really shouldn't be used to perpetuate stereotypes like: men are dumb and their wives really run the show.

That's all I'm saying. I've got nothing personal against anyone that likes the show.

I've never like Seinfeld, but I do get a kick out of some of the episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I like the first nine seasons of the simpsons. Other then on DVD, I haven't watched it in like nine years.

Truthfully, I just don't really like sitcoms. I think the Office is pretty good, but other than that, I don't watch sitcoms. My wife likes King Of Queens, so that's how I know about it.

And you can't seriously argue that the King of Queens' wife didn't wear the pants in the relationship. And that she was the breadwinner and he was an underachiever (could have been more than a UPS driver).

YEah she made more money in the show, but thats because Doug didnt want to leave his job, in the last season or something he did but he couldnt take it an went back, he liked his job.

Curb is a bad show, i just dont like it, something about it i dont like, and simpsons is crap, i cant stand a tv show where nothing changes, its been on for 16 years an bart is still 8, i mean shit he should atleast get a year older ever 4 years or something.

This sounds a little bit like "I Love Lucy."

Not only is King of Queens not funny, the actress who is his wife is a Scientologist. I would however, watch it with Bas and Randy and Rampage.
