Valuev loses!
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=2837724
Even though he was a big underdog, everyone knew that Ruslan Chagaev was no joke. Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW, WBA Heavyweight Champion of the world.....Ruslan "White Tyson" Chagaev!
Well, so much for the much vaunted battle of the giants between Valuev and Wlad Klitschko, but I'm starting to think that a fight between this guy and Samuel Peter after he KOs Maskaev could be a great fight. Marciano's record stays safe, but from the sounds of it, Valuev earns some respect, taking his loss like a man in what sounded like a really good fight. Have at it.

Chagaev will have a ton of notoriety for taking down the giant, believe me. I think Peter beats him, but like I said Chagaev is no joke, and now he has name recognition for beating Valuev. A Peter/Chagaev or Klitschko/Chagaev are both attractive fights, and after Peter wins his title, both could be title unifiers.

Of course, the two most known guys he's beaten are Valuev and Huggy Bear John Ruiz. And he was one of the few guys to beat the great Felix Savon in amateurs

I told everyone that Valuev wouldnt be champ long. I do not like the guy because i think its unfair to everyone else that he fights that this guy is over 300lbs he should be a super hw. I was kinda looking forward to Wlad knocking him out but oh well maybe down the road he will get too.

Yea, it was only a matter of time before this guy lost, I never was very impressed with his boxing skills, I was with his size, but never his skills.

Yeah he was a Tim S of boxing, he has crap skills and did not have that great of a chin. I've seen him rocked a few times by little guys.
Is Chagaev the same guy that went to a draw with Ray Austin. If im not mistaken that draw was a win for one of the guys but the judges messed up then called it a draw or some crap then they both got title shots. If this is the same guy im thinking about he wont be champion long either.

No, that was Sultan Ibragimov who drew with Austin, but both he and Chagaev are from Uzbekistan, yet another former Soviet republic. Speaking of Ibragimov, he's fighting Briggs for the WBO title in June, in Atlantic City. He's pretty good, just outside the top 10.
And more heavyweight news, Wlad Klitschko is officially fighting Lamon Brewster in July for the 3rd defence of his IBF title. Honestly, it was the best he could hope for, seeing how the Peter/Maskaev fight is set for August, and Briggs/Ibragimov is in June. Not only that, but Chagaev probably isn't ready to take on someone like Klitschko (needs more time to train for such a huge fight like that). So Wlad the Impaler gets a chance to avenge one of his losses.
Early predictions: Heavyweight champions by the end of the year if no unifications take place:
WBA- Ruslan Chagaev
WBC- Samuel Peter
IBF- Wladimir Klitschko
WBO- Shannon Briggs
The most likely unification bout would most likely be one between Klitschko and Briggs. Vitali is assured the next crack at the Peter/Maskaev winner, and like I said, Chagaev probably gets a fringe guy and a mandatory.

Oh ok i thought he was the one that fought ray but thanks again for clearing that up. Wlad vs Brewster is a good match up, Wlad should knock out Brewster within 5. Buf if he tires his chin will be tested but im going with ko in the 3rd.
