Question Zab Judah vs. Joshua Clottey, August 2nd.

I think Joshua Cottey would have gone on to beat Maragarito if he hadn't injured his hand. And even then, I thought he had it close.

Zab Judah may be fast, but he sure as hell isn't accurate. Or all that powerful. At least not powerful enough to knock Clottey out.

Figure Joshua's going to do to Judah what Cotto did. What do you guys think?

A part of me really wants Zab Judah to win, and continue to win, and hit his potential for once

but the part of me that knows boxing says Joshua Clottey wins this

So many people make a big deal out of Clottey hurting his hand in the fight, yet ignore the fact that Margarito entered the fight with a bum ankle and a bad wrist.

Considering that this fight (Judah/Clottey) involves two guys who start strong and fade down the end (for different reasons, Clottey has no gas tank and Judah has no focus), I actually see a fairly entertaining, if sloppy, fight that goes to the cards. Clottey has a friggin' rock for a head and has very good defense. Judah is an offensive whirlwind, but is prone to getting thrown off his game at any given moment.

To be honest, I'm not totally excited about the fight, but it is an intriguing, interesting fight that I would like to watch but wouldn't be too miffed about missing. Look for the winner, especially if its Judah, to get Mosley as soon as he disposes of Mayorga.

Dunno yet, I might watch both, I might not watch either. Considering one of my dream fights is Montiel/Mijares, I'm more interested in Kirilov, who's the other titlist at 115. I keep hearing that if Mijares doesn't get Montiel next, they'll line up Kirilov for him (or it could be Montiel getting Kirilov, who knows).

115 is one of my favorite divisions right now. When you got guys like Montiel, Mijares, Kirilov, Darchinyan, Munoz, Arce, Navarro, Banal, and Gorres there, and the X-Factor in my boy Donaire (who'll probably move up eventually), there's almost not a bad fight that can be made at 115. And unlike the more glamorous divisions, these guys are practically compelled to fight one another, because the only big money these guys get comes by fighting each other.

The one rumor that had me excited was a card toward the end of the year that had Montiel/Mijares headlining and Donaire/Arce on the undercard, with the Donaire/Arce winner getting a crack at the true champion at super flyweight/jr. bantamweight. But I also hear that Donaire could defend his flyweight belt against his mando soon, on the undercard of a proposed Mijares/Kirilov fight in the fall. We'll see.

But yeah, good times for some hardcore fight fans on August 2.

I think Zab will lose too, but not because he's not a better fighter, it's because this division is way too big for him and it seems his power hasn't carried over. He may not know it, but he really needs to go back to 135 or 142, that's when he KO'd everybody he faced.

A great fight would beJudah vs Hattan
