Gabriel Gonzaga. He obviously has great bjj and his stand up is coming along, the fact that he caught randy with the head kick proves that the cc hk wasnt a once in a lifetime event. Also he is a true heavyweight and will be able to deal with anyone in the ufc in terms of size. IMO he will prove he is a top hw in 2008.

Same here. Machida is definitely underrated, he has soundly defeated Soko and is now 12-0 over quality opponents in great fashion and people still think he isn't that good. People also say he is boring which I am yet to understand. Gonzaga belongs on this list as well along with Brandon Vera.

im not sure why tim sylvia is on there to be honest
he had 2 very unimpressive fights, and i've always thought he was overrated...

People don't want smart fighters; since he doesn't throw himself at his opponents but instead picks them apart he is boring. It's not like he just LnPs his opponents like other popular fighters...

Ironic. Chuck is also a little similar to machida when it comes down to counter striking but no one says anything about him, kinda odd.

Whenever there is discussion in MMA of a fighter being "underrated", the question always has to be asked who who is doing the rating - hardcore fans or mainstream fans.
For example, right now Fitch is running away with this poll. If we are talking about mainstream fans underrating a fighter, then I agree Fitch is one of if not the most underrated (and mainstream, casual fans don't even know who Kid or Jake Shields are).
But if we are talking about hardcore fans? No way in hell Fitch is underrated. Everyone on this site was all over his nuts since last year, even before his performances this year. Most hardcore fans were ready to crown him the #2 WW in the world after only GSP, and that was before his performances this year including decisioning Diego.
So, in a topic like this (or, similarly, overrated), the "winner" depends greatly on exactly which group of viewers is doing the rating.
