REALLY? Who gave you your blackbelt in BJJ?

I've seen a number of "brown belts" and "black belts" come into my school to train who got tapped by purple belts because their brown/black belt were not legitimate.

One specific time that comes to mind was about a year ago, we had this guy come in wearing a brown belt. Obviously he attracted a lot of attention because no one knew him, but people noticed the color around his waste.

I've had my blue for 2 yrs, and trust me it is a legitimate blue. I could have probably been close to purple if I had been competing, but school has really put a halt on competition. Back to my point, the color of belts dont mean shit. It's who gave you the belt. I along with a couple of blue and purple belts tapped this dude with the "brown belt" repeatedly. You bet your ass he NEVER wore that brown belt to class again.

To quote Royce, a Blackbelt only covers 2 inches of your ass. YOU have to cover the rest.
