Are you kidding me? For a guy who once ripped into Rashad Evans for showboating and being disrespectful this seems incredibly disrespectful to me. Maybe Matt just realizes MMA is quickly passing him by and he can't handle the pain. On the other hand he's probably the master on what not to do against GSP.

"The last fight of the night was Georges and Fitch. Georges didn’t look as big as he has before and he seemed like he had gotten tired from the first round. Fitch had the game plan of countering Georges and you just can’t do that. You can’t counter a quicker fighter. To be honest, halfway in the third round I got up and walked out of the arena and went to my hotel. The fight wasn’t the most exciting and I wanted to get out of there before everyone else was getting up to leave."
i agree with matt hughes. st. pierre was smaller and in my opinion, overtrained for this fight. he's lost some of his explosiveness and athleticism due to getting overtrained at the jackson camp, which is notorious for that. jackson's great cardio regimen may work for guys like diego, but for excellent athletes like gsp, it diminishes their ability. ive said this before, hopefully more people start realizing this and being more observant, instead of going "omggspisthebesthesgodhekilledfitch." yes he had a good performance but you have to look at the subtleties of his performance. he wasn't sure how to finish, he tired, he didn't look as explosive/energetic/spontaneous (see the jay hieron fight and compare both st. pierre's physique and his performance to the fitch fight in which he clearly was drained and overtrained).
