What's funny about this cardio theory is that it will be an excuse for Sherk advocates if Penn finishes him early. They'll say "if it went into later rounds penn was in trouble." This isn't a marathon it's an MMA fight. Who is the better all around MMA fighter? Can we take cardio into consideration? Of course, however it seems there is just too much stock put into only that.
BJ's skill set is superior to Sherks overall. I gave my prediction before, and I stand by it. But hey i'd love for this to go into later rounds so i get more for my money. But it won't.

Penn's first fight against Pulver was at 155. Did he gas that fight? Or was he just out-pointed? I am not trying to ask a rhetorical question, in my mind he gassed, but I don't remember if that was truly the case.
I think that most people are saying that Sherk's only chance is cardio (something he is known for) and Penn's only perceived weakness is cardio, so that is the only wild card. If Penn comes in shape, he should win.
I agree with Rivethead about everyone gassing in Colorado. I don't think that too many of the fighters were prepared for that. I was pissed at Boetsch for gassing half way through the first round, but then I took into consideration that he is a part-time fighter and took the fight on short notice and was fighting a good mile up, yada yada yada...
I want Sherk to win, but think that Penn will. If Penn wins my only reasoning will be that he was better than Sherk.
