Can anyone else point out a fight in the UFC where the guy won on points from the bottom?
They just don't give fighters that nod in the UFC. Penn will go for the finish regardless, but should he get hurt or tired you can best believe that Sherk will capitalize on points.
The point about having them stand back up if Sherk is inactive is pretty moot if Sherk can get consistent take downs on a tired Penn. That happens around mid round 3 imo.
BJ has the lighter weight and new conditioning his favor, he shouldn't look to out condition Sherk, he shouldn't look to draw out the fight... He just need to come out and put the pressure on Sherk and the entire fight is in his favor...
BJ has better striking and more dangerous submissions, if he can hurt Sherk early there's no reason he need fight off his back... He should look for an early finish and I think BJ will have it...

Rutten vs Randleman
the article is pretty accurate though in saying basically that b.j. gassing is sherk's only real chance
and i'm sure b.j. will come in in excellent shape and better than ever
see, for cardio to be an option, sherk has to survive to about the 4th round at least...i don't really see how he's going to do that
b.j. is going to beat the shit out of him on the feet, and if sherk does take b.j. down he's not really going to be able to do any damage imo...b.j. is more likely to just sweep or sub sherk then sherk is to do any considerable damage...bj by sub rd 2...rnc
