I am still taking Sherk by decision. I do not care how "good" Penn's cardio might be. I would just look at Joe Lauzon and his fight with Florian and then question whether or not Penn is really pushing that hard in cardio. A guy he trained gassed out after a round, what does that say about the coach and his training? I think Sherk will eventually break Penn's cardio but the question is whether or not he will do it in time pull out the decision. I think he will, but I can see why people would think otherwise.
So...you're putting things into perspective...but you're overlooking the fact that Lauzon had his first fight in the mountains of Colorado, and roughly half the card gassed that night? And making the assumption that Penn training for someone whose only real advantage is cardio somehow equates to one of his pupils training for someone who has never been a cardio fiend, and then fighting them in the mountains?

I'm sorry, but I think your perspective needs to go back to the optometrist.

If it was a pure cardio event, I'd put money on Sean. But it's not, it's MMA.

I also don't think Penn's cardio is the achilles heel most detractors make it out to be...
