It's about the money - it's not about the money. He definitely wants more control in his role in the UFC - I would think you would have to be able to prove that you are able to work with people (primarily Dana White) without such acrimonious relations. Prior to the Couture debacle, they gave Randy pretty much anything he wanted and it surely had to do with the fact that he was the opposite of the polarizing figure that Tito is. I've been losing some respect for him as he has become less and less invested in fighting. I don't see him moving on as a reinvigoration of his commitment to the fight game.
