Regardless, Mir wasn't even close to the shape he was in for the Lesnar fight during the competition with Babalu. That's his own fault, yes, but he's rededicated himself. And while it might not require the same explosiveness that a normal MMA match would,it does make a difference.
I don't believe that Mir's BJJ skills are better than Minotauro, just that he does stand a chance on the ground, more than most people would. And while Mir's stand up isn't spectacular, he does have power. If he lands a head kick, he won't be as dumb as Heath Herring was, he would go for the kill.

Frank goes for maneuvers most don't, but that makes his style unorthodox, not his actual guard. he uses a typical closed guard, but he uses weird shit like that shoulderlock. the most impressive thing about Frank isnt really his overall level in BJJ, it was his agility off his back, he has a small man's guard, at least till he gasses.
which he usually does after about 1 round.
