I can't speak for the other mods and admins.. but I don't think a day goes by where I give out less than 5 reps (half the reps I am allowed to give)
Maybe I just rep for different reasons than most. With me, the best way to get rep is to contribute. Texas, Warchief, and Hunchbacked will vouch for that. You post good articles, you get rep. The forum can't function without topics. Or, if someone posts a really good point/topic (a laundry list of posters could be inserted here). Yes, I'll give a rep out here and there if someone makes me laugh hard or has something really funny in an av or sig (and that is part of reputation... being a nice, funny poster), but contributing is how you get repped from me. Just FYI if anyone wants to butter me up.
You also need to understand, being a mod, you spend a lot of time doing a lot of different things and repping isn't always the first thing on your mind (the first thing on my mind is breathing, just so you guys know). Being the newest/newbie of the mods, I can tell you, I used to rep a lot more when I had less to do.
Also, you have to REALLY piss me off to get neg'd.. I have probably neg'd two people (that weren't trolls.. and even trolls.. I might be up to 10 neg reps).
And, in all due respect, your experience as a poster (you may have lurked for longer) is 5 days. I've gone 2 weeks without receiving rep from a mod or admin, but countless reps from others.
